Classes include the safe handling of the vehicle at low and high speeds, as well as its maintenance and repair.

Two nights during the term are set aside for the La Junta Grand Prix during which drivers test their skill on a specially designed course at the La Junta racetrack. Each term the winning ranch's name is engraved on the La Junta Gold Cup.

When a boy reaches the age of 12 he may choose the fast-paced excitement of Go Cart racing. La Junta has it's own paved quarter mile, Go Cart Track and fleet of well equipped carts.
