A young man should be encouraged to make the most of his mental and physical capabilities, thereby increasing his self-confidence and self- image.
Accordingly, our activities and programs are designed to instill a strong sense of independence and self-assuredness in our campers. We set summer goals for our campers to build character, a sense of service, new life skills and an appreciation of the outdoors.
Camp La Junta believes that every child is unique and benefits from a broad range of experiences in a positive environment, as well as a strong connection with nature.
Each camper is given the opportunity to choose his own schedule, try new experiences, strengthen interests, embrace independence and develop lifetime skills to grow into a more self-assured young man.
At Camp La Junta, it’s all about boys: Boys having fun. Boys trying new things. Boys learning about life. Boys learning about themselves. Our goal is to provide each boy a fun summer experience as well as a positive, confidence-building, life experience.
Camp La Junta takes pride in providing a system of parent communication that keeps you fully informed and confident about your son’s camp experience. Daily newsletters, photos, a secure parent portal, video highlight films, Camp Director reports, and a written note from your son’s counselors help us accomplish this. We know you can’t be here with us, but we want you to know how much fun we’re having.
